Measuring basicsUpdated 2 months ago

When taking your measurements, alignment is key!

Make sure the measuring tape is straight and properly positioned along your residual limb.

  • For most circumference measurements, the tape should be parallel to the floor—nice and level all the way around.

  • For length measurements, the tape should follow the natural orientation of the body part—either parallel or perpendicular to the floor, depending on the area.

Taking that extra moment to line things up ensures your measurements are accurate, reliable, and truly tailored to you.

Typically any required lower measurement(s) for most products are the most difficult measure and often measured too high on the limb, resulting in a too large of a size.
